Bursary Awarded to A+ Student Rodney Levett

Published on
MDE is pleased to award the 2013-2014 Bursary for Persons with HIV/AIDS to outstanding applicant, Rodney Levett.
Rodney has been awarded $3,500 towards his training at Mactech Distance Education in the field of A+ Technical Support.
Living with HIV for 20 + years has, certainly, played a role in increasing Rodney's determination and fortitude. After learning his Canada Student Loan funding didn’t cover the full costs of his tuition and books, Rodney set out on a path to come up with the shortfall. He explored many avenues for additional funding but met with little success until the MDE Bursary Program.
The bursary award from MDE has allowed Rodney to take the next steps towards his dream opening his own business in computer sales and service in his local area. “I’m very healthy, my virus is completely under control - so retraining and re-entering the workforce are at the top of my mind” he says.
MDE would like to officially congratulate Rodney and wish him best of luck with his A+ program and his future endeavors!

The Bursary for Persons with HIV/Aids is now closed for 2013-2014; the next opportunity for application will be 2015-2016.
