The “Dartmouth Wailers” host team was happy to welcome the 6 other teams representing the province to participate in the highest level of Pee Wee hockey in the province. As a Gold Sponsor, Mactech Distance Education staff is pleased to support these young athletes. “The Antigonish Bulldogs defeated the Truro Bearcats 6 to 4 in the final. It was a great tournament; kids and parents really enjoyed it – our host parents did an amazing job!” said Gord Gamble, tournament Co-chair.

“Supporting events like this is something we consider worthwhile because we understand the value in organized sports. They play an important role in improving behavior, health, social skills and have a positive influence on academic performance. This carries through into adulthood, creating strong independent learners.” said Jennifer Flynn, public relations at MDE.

A special thanks to MDE Graduate Robin Grandy, who was on hand for the official puck-drop and to present the Player of the Game award.

Mactech Distance Education, also known as HomeED, has been known as an innovator in distance learning for 25 years. Mactech is the only nationally accredited and ISO 9001:2008 certified college in Canada.
