MDE Spreads Holiday Cheer

Published on
For the second year in a row, Mactech Distance Education, located in North Sydney, NS will be providing “Comforts of Christmas” baskets to seniors in the local community this holiday season.

MDE, with the assistance of various agencies throughout the community, identified those who would benefit from this holiday cheer the most. Then the MDE elves set to work creating “Comforts of Christmas” baskets….shopping, counting, sorting, arranging and wrapping.

When completed the baskets were jam-packed with food items, pyjamas, socks, slippers, hats, gloves, throw blankets, gift certificates, candy and other special treats. MDE staff member and fundraising committee co-chair, Corri Erickson, says, “Being able to help those in need is what the true meaning of Christmas is all about. Through the support of our staff and the community, these seniors will have everything the need for a very Merry Christmas.”

The Comfort of Christmas baskets will be delivered a few days before Christmas to some very deserving people.
